Mission Statement

August Boeger is a community committed to the success of all learners as they become knowledgeable, responsible, and caring citizens.

Our goals for the 2009-2010 school year are to:

• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly environment
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with students
• Engage students in the learning process
• Establish and communicate learning goals, track student progress, and celebrate success

Guiding Principles

We will make decisions based on the following:

1. All students can learn.
2. Students learn in different ways.
3. Students learn in different timeframes.
4. Errors are inherent in the learning process.
5. Formative assessments should be frequent—and provide feedback that influences instruction.
6. Poverty does not inhibit students’ ability to learn.
